Premstätten, Austria and Munich, Germany (April 24, 2025) – Switching from halogen to LED technology has never been easier: ams OSRAM (SIX: AMS) presents the NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART ECE H11, the first fully ECE R37 approved LED retrofit lamp. This innovation enables straightforward conversion and is approved for 12V vehicles in all ECE contracting countries¹ – including the EU, UK, and Switzerland. The replacement for H11 halogen lamps is approved in all these countries for all lighting functions.

 

Following the introduction of the NIGHT BREAKER® LED, Germany's first road-legal² LED retrofit lamp, in October 2020, and the practical plug-and-play NIGHT BREAKER® LED1 SPEED H7 in December 2024, OSRAM Automotive is once again bringing an innovative conversion solution to the market. The ECE R37 approval of the new NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART ECE H11, recognizable by the E1 mark, eliminates the need to cross-reference headlamp approval numbers, carry official approval documents, and attach stickers.

 

The NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART ECE H11 is approved as a 1:1 replacement for H11 halogen lamps. It offers a modern and bright white light with a color temperature of up to 6000 Kelvin. With its impressive light output, it ensures optimal visibility, while glare³ for other road users is up to 50 percent below the legally permissible maximum values. Compared to standard halogen lamps, these LED retrofit lamps consume up to 60 percent less energy and, thanks to LED technology and the specially developed vibration-resistant design, boast up to six times longer lifespan⁴. These features make the NIGHT BREAKER® LED SMART ECE H11 a cost-effective and environmentally friendly retrofit solution.
